Visiting Djerba

Welcome to Djerba! Tunisia’s resort island and most popular destination in the country. Despite being a popular destination with Europeans, Djerba is ridiculously cheap. Quite possibly one of the cheapest places I’ve ever been to! You can stay at some amazing resorts for prices that were around $35 a night. There are dozens of resorts to choose from, almost all of which are directly along the beach. I quickly found the security guards are quite passionate about their duties and won’t let you cross through. After being caught at a few other resorts I finally made it from the beach back to the main street, and exited through these massive doors.

If you’re into Star Wars then there is a bit of history left behind in Djerba. I’m a bit upset at myself for somehow confusing this building above with what was supposed to be Obi Wan Kenobi’s exile home in the original movie. Whichever building it was, I surely saw it but mistakenly picked this one. Either way none of them were in remarkable condition, and most had the insides covered with graffiti.
