Traveling in Tunisia

Right in the center of north Africa, Tunisia is a wonderful destination known for its beaches and ancient Roman ruins. The former French colony is only a two hour flight from Paris, so its easy accessibility makes it a popular destination. My priority when I visited Tunisia was definitely to see Carthage; the ancient capital of the Carthaginian empire and later a major Roman city. I also made it to the resort island of Djerba, and even visited some of the former sets of Star Wars, where the original movies were filmed!

Djerba is a small island along Tunisia’s southern coasts. Despite only being 20 miles (30 kilometers) wide, it has weeks of activities and places to explore. Djerba is packed with some of north Africa’s best and most elegant resorts.
