Traveling in United Kingdom
The United Kingdom, also known as Great Britain, is made up of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. My trip to England was an extremely brief stop when I was in the military living aboard an aircraft carrier. In all honestly, this trip to the UK hardly counts for anything because I had so little time! Despite the short trip, I had a wonderful time in the United Kingdom and when I return to see the country properly I have so much to look forward to. With all the ancient ruins and castles, the night life of the big cities, and just the natural beauty and of the UK, I could easily spend an entire summer here.

London is by far the largest city in the United Kingdom and is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world. London is famous for medieval castles, the British Royal Family, and countless landmarks such as London Tower, Big Ben, and Tower Bridge. With plenty of sightseeing to do in the day, the nightlife ranges from low key in several of the city’s neighborhoods to outright insane in places like Piccadilly Circus.

Perhaps the world’s most famous prehistoric ruins, Stonehenge is an incredible 4,500 year old temple of mysterious origins just west of London. Moving stones that weigh up to 8,000 pounds (3,600 kg) each shows what an achievement creating Stonehenge was. In addition to the actual site, there is a small museum and recreation of a neolithic village as well.
